Ledger Live is a desktop and mobile application that lets you manage your crypto portfolio, send and receive assets, install apps on hardware devices, and connect with exchanges and dApps securely. It is commonly used alongside Ledger hardware wallets to provide an air-gapped seed and private key protection.
Have your Ledger hardware device (e.g., Ledger Nano S Plus or Ledger Nano X), a charged battery if applicable, a computer or mobile device, and a secure place to record your recovery phrase. Never share the recovery phrase.
Only download Ledger Live from the official domain. Keep firmware up to date and never enter your recovery phrase into any app or website.
While Ledger Live is designed for Ledger devices, many users also manage Trezor devices and software wallets in parallel. Use each vendor's official suite for device-specific features — for Trezor, use Trezor Suite for full compatibility.
Do not mix recovery seeds between different device ecosystems. Treat each recovery phrase as a single source of truth and never import one vendor seed directly into another without understanding the risks.
Use Trezor Suite for advanced Trezor features, firmware updates, and coin-specific support not available through Ledger Live.
Inside Ledger Live you can add accounts for supported blockchains. For ERC‑20 tokens, add the token manually if it doesn’t appear automatically.
For organizations, use separated device seeds for each user and implement role-based transaction approvals (via multisig where available) instead of sharing a single seed.
Limit software installed on the same machine used for Ledger Live. Use anti-malware tools and keep the operating system updated. For high-value holdings consider combining Ledger devices with multisig solutions.
Document a recovery procedure: where the seed is stored, who has access in emergencies, and steps to transfer funds to a new seed if a device is lost or compromised. Test the process with small amounts.
Always use official vendor pages for downloads, guides and support:
